No. 16 Jordan Mathews, G, Erie Bayhawks

2017-2018 Stats: 8.8 points, 2.1 rebounds, 1.2 assists

Not only is Jordan Mathews a California alum, but he’s a Los Angeles native.

Mathews went to Santa Monica High School and was heavily recruited. After spending three years at Cal and graduating early, Mathews transferred to Gonzaga where he helped the Bulldogs reach the NCAA title game.

After going undrafted in 2017, Mathews signed with the Erie Bayhawks, the Atlanta Hawks’ G-League affiliate. There, he averaged 8.8 points on 38% shooting — which is his main fault.

Mathews is a bit of an inefficient shooter. He shot nearly 32% from three last season, plus the aforementioned 38% from the field. And for a guard, his 70% from the free throw stripe is underwhelming.

He’s a solid pull-up shooter, as well as a catch-and-shoot guy as well, though he seems hesitant to drive and command the ball.
