The Clippers’ Lou Williams won the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award on Monday night at the NBA Award’s Show.

The Clippers’ Lou Williams brought home the 2017-18 NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award. Against, tough competition Williams won his second Sixth Man Award of his career.

Williams is with his 6th team in the league, but he has always produced strong offensive numbers and this year was no exception. He faced tough competition in the Houston Rockets’ Eric Gordon and the Toronto Raptors’ Fred VanVleet. Williams easily averaged a career high in points at 22.6 points per game, assists at an impressive 5.3 a game, and tied a career high with 1.1 steals this season.

Williams has won the award twice, once with Toronto, and now with LA. He is a fan favorite at every stop as they can’t get enough of him. Williams stepped up as one of the Clippers’ leaders and helped shoulder the load. He scored at will, helped get other guys going and helped keep the Clippers into the playoff hunt late into the season.

With the departure of former number one pick Blake Griffin, Williams took on an even larger role. He played with heart and grit doing, everything he could to help the Clippers get a win. He unfortunately did not make this years All-Star game, even though it was in LA. Williams only becomes the fifth player to win the award more than once and second to win with multiple teams.

He joins former sixth man and Clipper Jamal Crawford to win the away with different teams. Williams signed an extension during the season and looks to stay with the Clippers long term.

Former Clipper Jamal Crawford

Speaking of, former LA Clipper Jamal Crawford won the 2018 Twyman Stokes Teammate Of The Year Award. It comes as no surprise Jamal was voted the best teammate by his peers. Crawford is a free agent and should have suitors.
