No. 9: January 2, 2018 — Grizzlies 105, Clippers 113

Lou’s Line: 33 points, 6 assists, 2 rebounds, 15/15 FT

One fault of recent Clippers teams is free throw shooting, which sprouts from DeAndre Jordan‘s troubles. He’s shot just 44.6% from the stripe throughout his career.

While Griffin was there, he made an improvement to his stroke. Although his average in LA was just 68%, he was shooting 78.5% at the time of his departure.

This was another area in which Williams seriously helped the Clippers this season. Having converted 88% of his attempts, Lou was second only to Danilo Gallinari percentage-wise, and first in total makes.

Take this game against the Memphis Grizzlies, for example. Williams recorded 33 points, 15 of which came from the charity stripe. It was the most free throws made in a single game by Williams all season, and just one of the 34 games in which he failed to miss at the line.

His 15 free throws made against Memphis are the second-most he’s made in a game in his career. The most is 16, which he made as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers in 2015.
