No. 10: February 22, 2018 — Clippers 127, Warriors 134
Lou’s Line: 21 points, 12 assists, 1 steal, 3 turnovers
Williams is listed as a shooting guard, but that doesn’t stop him from sharing the rock every now and then.
Just over a month had passed since his historic performance against the Golden State Warriors, and Williams and the Clippers traveled back to Oracle for another shot at the defending champions. This time though, instead of scoring 50, he decided he’d give his teammates a chance at doing so.
Lou recorded 21 points and 12 assists — a career high — in a tight loss at Golden State. Including assists, Williams was responsible for a grand total of 46 points, roughly 36% of LA’s total score.
Williams is known around the world for his elite scoring ability, but games like these showed how complete he is on the offensive side of the floor. He averaged 5.3 assists per game, and recorded 6+ in 37 games last season.
His improved role as a distributor will make him all the more valuable on the trade market if he’s made available this summer.
