Lou’s Line: 40 points, 8 assists, 2 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 turnover, 6/9 3PT

It’s New Year’s Eve at STAPLES Center, and Lou Williams is ready to put on one last show in 2017. Not only did he deliver, but he sent the Clippers into 2018 on a much-needed high.

The November and December months of the 2017-2018 Clippers season were rough. During that stretch, the team endured a nine-game losing streak, lost several players due to injury, including Patrick Beverley, and effectively fell out of the playoff race.

Leave it to Lou Will to save the day.

Albeit against the lowly Charlotte Hornets, Williams went off for his then-second 40+ point game of the season. Most notably, Lou connected on 6/9 three-point attempts and scored 15 points in the fourth quarter. Noticing a pattern?

Williams also recorded eight assists to just one turnover, his second-best ratio of the season.

The Clippers needed him then more than ever before, and he answered the call — all while hardly breaking a sweat.
