New Steals Leader In Town

The Clippers franchise record for steals had been 9 steals. This was set by former player and current head coach Doc Rivers.

On a late January game against the Utah Jazz, Williams added another accolade to an already All-Star worthy season. (We’re still bitter) Lou recorded 31 points and 7 assists as well as the 10 steals required to obtain the franchise record, breaking coach Rivers’s franchise record that had stood for 27 years.

Williams was a single steal shy of tying the NBA record for steals at 1,1 which is held by Kendal Gill. While Williams might not be regarded as a stellar defensive player, Clippers’ fans will remember this night that occurred during a turmoil filled season for the franchise.
