Lou’s 50 Piece

Entering their January 10th game against the Golden State Warriors, the Clippers had lost 12 straight games to the reigning NBA champions.

Having lost to Golden State by 16 points just four days prior at home did not help set pretenses for this match up.

During pregame, Warriors coach Steve Kerr joked that anything can happen and Williams might even go for 50. In typical Lou Williams fashion that’s exactly what he did battling against a 40 point outburst from Finals MVP Kevin Durant and notching a career high scoring outburst of 50 point including 8 three pointers.

William’s performance gave the Clippers their first victory over Golden State since December 25th 2011.
