One of the more unknown prospects in the class, Center Mitchell Robinson could be the versatile big the Los Angeles Clippers are looking for.

If there’s one area of the floor where the Los Angeles Clippers really need depth, it’s at the center position. Behind starting big man DeAndre Jordan, the Clippers have just Boban Marjanovic and Montrezl Harrell — who is best suited as a backup 4. Something else is particularly lacking from this group as well: A three-point shot. The trio combined for 1/7 shooting from deep last season.

In today’s ever-evolving NBA, bigs will often take just as many — or more — three’s per game as the guards. With that, centers must become more mobile, more agile, and better perimeter defenders.

Jordan is the best all-around option, but it’s unknown whether or not he’ll be returning to Los Angeles next season. The Clippers, then, should prepare to rebuild at the position in the Draft.

Projected by most to select Texas A&M’s Robert Williams in the lottery, a DJ clone, the Clippers could also take a look at Mitchell Robinson, a more modern big.

Robinson is projected to be taken somewhere in the mid-20’s, so grabbing him at 12 or 13 might be a reach. However, given his versatility and unique skillset, his offensive upside is miles above that of Williams.
