Chimezie Metu — 21, F/C, USC

If the Clippers are unable to grab a versatile big in the first round, then Chimezie Metu is worth a look in the second.

Metu was a vital part of USC’s efficient offense last season, and was the team’s top scorer with 15.7 points per game. Standing 6-11, Metu has the size and potential to become a solid two-way big in the NBA. He’ll need to work on his rebounding a bit though, considering he was able to haul in just 7.4 per game, and only 1.9 were offensive boards.

But Metu has plenty of potential, if he receives the right coaching. He shot 30% from deep in college on a rather low attempt rate, and if he can make that a more regular shot, Metu could become a solid starter.

For now, Metu can replicate the offense DeAndre Jordan provides, to an extent. He’s not as explosive and his hands aren’t as spectacular, but he’d be solid off the bench until he fully develops the rest of his game.
