According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Los Angeles Clippers Point Guard Patrick Beverley has recovered ahead of schedule and can resume activities.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski has reported this morning that Los Angeles Clippers Point Guard Patrick Beverley has been cleared to resume basketball activities, roughly three months ahead of schedule.

Beverley played in just 11 games this past season due to a microfracture in his right knee. He started in each of the 11, and recorded averages of 12.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.9 assists. In addition, Beverley shot 40% from three-point range, matching a career high mark.

Since his surgery in November, Beverley has been very open about his recovery, answering numerous questions and sharing videos of his rehabilitation on social media.

Beverley’s initial timetable had his return slated around September — a 10 month recovery period. But if anyone is going to beat the odds, it makes sense that it’s him. It’s all he’s ever done.

“Man,” Beverley said, when asked about his current state, “I almost cried.”

The 29-year-old Chicago-born guard has never been one to hide his emotions on the court. Instead, he lets them drive his game. Beverley is known around the league as one of the toughest defenders, and he prides himself on getting in opponents’ heads.

In the first game of the LA Clippers’ 2017-2018 regular season, Beverley was tasked with defending rookie phenom Lonzo Ball. Ball was a large target around the league, thanks in part to his outspoken father hyping him up as the next Michael Jordan, among other things.

Beverley rattled Ball in his first NBA appearance, holding him to just 3 points on 1-6 shooting.

The Clippers missed Beverley all season long. His defensive presence couldn’t be matched. And now, it seems he’ll be ready to come out better and stronger for the season opener.
