7. Chicago Bulls: Mohamed Bamba, C, Texas
A height of 6’11, a wingspan of 7’10. 12.9 ppg, 10.5 rpg, 3.7 bpg. This is Mohamed Bamba, and he can be the best center of the future. Due to his nightmarish large size, Bamba is looking to be a perennial Defensive Player of the Year nominee. Like some other players in this draft class, Bamba is raw and needs to improve, especially on offense. A recent video from the fine people at Draft Express has people talking about Bamba. In said video, the lanky native of the Ivory Coast knocks down several three pointers consecutively. With the proper training and development, Mo Bamba could be Dikembe Mutombo with a three point shot.
If available at pick seven, the Bulls should definitely take Bamba. There current young core consists of Lauri Markkanen, Zach Lavine, and Kris Dunn. Aside from Dunn, this isn’t the most defensive minded lineup in the league. Bamba’s elite rim protection and rebounding would make him the ultimate choice for Chicago’s rebuild.
