6. Orlando Magic: Trae Young, PG, Oklahoma
Trae Young set the NCAA on fire this past season. He led the league in points and assists per game. Young is a small guard who has been compared to the likes of players like Stephen Curry due to his size and scoring ability. Some scouts think that Young will fall out of the lottery, but Orlando is peculiar. Young would fill a needed hole and solved many problems for Orlando. Last season, after dealing Elfrid Payton to the Suns, Shelvin Mack took the starting point guard role and led the team in assists per game at 3.9. That’s shouldn’t happen.
Young would be the facilitator and playmaker that the Magic absolutely need. Young could also provide scoring, which the Magic also need. He would be the newest part of Orlando’s young core of Aaron Gordon, Mario Hezonja, and Jonathan Isaac. Drafting Trae Young would make the future of the Orlando Magic a lot more hopeful.
