In today’s episode, I run through my list of potential replacements for Mike Woodson, touch on the week’s top stories, and discuss Day 1 of the Combine.

Mike Woodson is out, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. There’s also no word on where Woodson is heading. However, we do know that the Clippers are seeking a defensive-minded coach to replace him. While this might have come as a shock to some, Woodson was given permission by the team to talk with the Knicks about returning as head coach, before they eventually hired David Fizdale.

In today’s episode, I talk about my favorite candidates that could realistically replace Woodson. Raptors 905 Head Coach Jerry Stackhouse is atop my list, given his G-League success and defensive orientation. In addition, I’m also a big fan of Frank Vogel, who was recently fired by the Orlando Magic.

Vogel was an important part of the Indiana Pacers teams 2012-2014 that nearly went the distance with LeBron James in the playoffs. Vogel’s Pacers teams were consistently among the top defensive teams in the league. With guys like Patrick Beverley and potentially Kawhi Leonard at his disposal, there’s no telling what he could do.

The Clippers should begin interviewing candidates as early as possible, and could begin after the NBA Draft Combine wraps up.

In my usual Friday segment, I talk about the week’s top stories, including Woodson’s departure.

In the final portion of today’s show, I spend a lot of time talking about the first day of the Combine. Grayson Allen, Donte DiVincenzo, and Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk were all names that jumped out at me,  Mykhailiuk in particular. I see him becoming the NBA’s next Eric Piatkowski, and I truly believe he would do best in LA.

Monday, I’ll be talking about the results of the Combine, going over the weekend’s top stories, and answering your questions.
