Trade #4

Clippers get: Kawhi Leonard

Spurs get: 12th Pick, 13th Pick, Danilo Gallinari, Wesley Johnson

According to Kevin O’Connor of the Ringer, the Spurs will only deal Kawhi Leonard for a “grand slam offer”. What better way to hit the reset button for San Antonio with two lottery picks to go along with their own pick (16th overall).

Gregg Popovich can also get the most out of Danilo Gallinari, who when healthy is a 18-20 Point scorer in this league. Wesley Johnson will be good for depth, defending, hitting tough mid-range jumpers and corner 3’s. Both players can fit well in the Spurs system.

For the Clippers, they get a proven winner in this league, a high-caliber defensive player and on offense as well. Pairing Kawhi with Avery Bradley, Patrick Beverley and DJ will cause nightmares for opposing offenses.

Kawhi can also offer the Clippers a franchise player that can help convince other players to come to LA. He can get his massive shoe deal that he’s been seeking, play in a bigger market and at home.
