Package 2
Clippers receive: Kawhi Leonard
Spurs receive: Tobias Harris, Boban Marjanovic, LAC Pick no. 12
The Spurs get their Bobi back, and the Clippers get Kawhi Leonard. Also, everyone holds hands and sings a song.
This is just too perfect a reunion for San Antonio to decline, one would hope. Word on the street is Gregg Popovich had to make Boban Marjanovic accept more money in free agency, showing both were reluctant to part ways. Plus, the Spurs get an excellent wing in Harris in the process, who came to Los Angeles via the Blake Griffin trade. Besides, you can’t split up Tobi and Bobi.
Harris is perfect for San Antonio’s system. Not only is he a young and a good shooter, he’s also a quiet, respectful person that fits their mold. With development under Popovich, Harris could end up a genuine star.
In return, the Clippers get Leonard, their potential savior. This trade also lacks the ‘bite you back’ potential that the last package presented as well, since Harris’s deal is set to expire in 2019.
Harris and a pick straight up probably isn’t enough for Leonard. But Marjanovic too? Now we’re talking.
