DeAndre Jordan Hostage Situation

In one of the greatest Basketball Twitter moments of all time, the myth was created that the Clippers, trying not to lose Jordan to the Mavericks, held Jordan hostage so he wouldn’t leave the team for Dallas. Griffin, who helped stoke those flames in his own way, downplayed the incident. He described that Jordan had actually reached out to Rivers, asserting his interest in coming back to Los Angeles. The Clippers responded in kind, flying out to meet Jordan at his home, in order to make sure that any issues would be ironed out.

Once Jordan seemed steadfast in his desire to return, the players and coaches stayed at the house until he could sign his new offer. Griffin also disputed the account that Mark Cuban was driving around trying to get to Jordan to dissuade him from coming back to Los Angeles. Personally, it makes me sad that it wasn’t everything we were led to believe, but, we will always have that magical night on Twitter, where each update was more outlandish than the next, and we learned Paul Pierce doesn’t know how to use emoji’s.
