Locked on Clippers May 4: Lou Williams Owns the City of Angels
In today’s episode of Locked on Clippers, I tell why Lou Williams owns the City of Angels, do a weekly news roundup, and go through a few mock drafts.
To kick off today’s episode of Locked on Clippers, I focused on perhaps the biggest storyline of the Clippers season — Lou Williams. In addition, I went in depth about whether or not he’ll become the best long-term asset that came out of the Chris Paul trade.
I compare the seasons of Patrick Beverley, Montrezl Harrell, and Williams to determine who was the best piece. In short, Williams was the top dog.
After talking about Williams, I dove into Friday’s segment, Weekly News Roundup. I mainly focus on more Kawhi Leonard headlines, including Sam Amico’s recent article.
I questioned the legitimacy of the article for a while, since the sources don’t seem too reliable and the whole situation seems very un-Spurslike. Still, the piece is worth mentioning and going through.
Once that’s wrapped up, I go through some of the more recent NBA mock drafts. Most of the ones I’ve seen have the LA Clippers selecting any combination of Collin Sexton, Kevin Knox, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, etc. In addition, I saw a few that had the team taking Zhaire Smith. Any of them would be solid options.
It seems that most sources believe the Clippers would be better off drafting a guard or a wing than a big.
On Monday’s show, we’ll pick up with the weekend’s biggest stories. I’ll discuss Harrell’s rise to fame as well, and I’ll tell you why the best is yet to come for the LA Clippers.
I hope you’ve enjoyed the show thus far — I’m beyond happy to be hosting. I’ll be running a mailbag segment soon, so feel free to message me on Twitter with questions and comments.
