Frank Vogel

Frank Vogel was just let go a few hours prior to this writing. Vogel was only 54-110 during his two seasons with the Orlando Magic, which may be alarming.

But let’s remember this: the Orlando Magic are a mess, so that mess is not all on him.

Vogel was 250-181 at his prior position with the Indiana Pacers. His biggest issue there? They couldn’t get over the hump that was LeBron James. He took that Pacers team to the playoffs five times during his six with the team. In those playoffs, they posted a 31-30 record.

Vogel may not be the flashy hiring, but he’s a known commodity. He also may help attract free agents. He and Paul George still reportedly share a close bond, so having him coach the team could further help bring PG back home to Los Angeles.
