Los Angeles Clippers: Grading Every Player’s 2017-2018 Performance
Austin Rivers: A-
One of these days, Austin Rivers is going to plateau. However, from the looks of it, that day won’t be any time soon.
Rivers has continued to prove all of his haters wrong this season, averaging career-highs almost across the board.
In 60 games this season, Rivers averaged 15.3 points, 3.9 assists, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per game, all of which are career marks. In addition, Rivers connected on 38.2% of his threes, making him one of the team’s most reliable options from beyond the arc.
Perhaps his most impressive feat of the year, though, was scoring a career-high number of points in back-to-back games, on back-to-back nights.
On December 22nd and 23rd, Rivers scored 36 and 38 points respectively, both of which were career-highs at the time. He did it against the Houston Rockets and Memphis Grizzlies, connecting on 11 of his 23 three’s during the stretch.
Rivers just keeps getting better, and he’s got a real chance at doing so again next season.
