Los Angeles Clippers: Grading Every Player’s 2017-2018 Performance
Willie Reed: D+
Willie Reed came to the Los Angeles Clippers with aspirations of becoming the league’s most improved player. And for a while there, I was on board with the idea.
But around the time the Clippers discovered what Harrell was capable of, Reed was streaking, and wasn’t putting up the kinds of numbers he was early on.
There were flashes of brilliance, games in which Reed would record a near-double-double. Those were plentiful in the first few months. But something happened along the way, and then Reed wasn’t himself. He wasn’t as efficient as he was before, the effort wasn’t there, and he started losing minutes because of it.
He too, was sent to Detroit in the Griffin trade. Considering Marjanovic took his place, it’s even easier to downplay the effect Reed had in the early goings.
