Brice Johnson: D+

Given his expectations, Brice Johnson really didn’t have an awful year — that’s why that “+” is there in his grade. We really think he deserved more of a look though, especially since he only played in nine games for 38 total minutes this season.

He looked great in the Summer League, but aside from that, Johnson never seemed to catch on in the pros. His best game this season came against the Phoenix Suns in the Clippers’ home opener, when he scored six points in six minutes.

He was sent to Detroit in the Griffin deal, where he was almost immediately waived and made available for teams to sign as a free agent. The Grizzlies picked him up, and after playing nine games for them, he was once again waived.

Even though Johnson’s NBA career is in question, there’s no doubt that he’s got a future in basketball somewhere. He’s a smart player, and if he plays his cards right, an eventual return is possible.
