Sindarius Thornwell caught a body last night and we’re here for it
During the final minutes of the Los Angeles Clippers loss to the New Orleans Pelicans, Sindarius Thornwell threw down a MONSTER dunk.
The Los Angeles Clippers may have not been playing for anything besides pride, but Sindarius Thornwell still gave us something to talk about on Monday night.
With a little under three minutes left in the game, Thornwell threw down a MONSTER dunk over the Pelicans’ DeAndre Liggins. The dunk was so impressive that even Anthony Davis hopped off the bench before realizing that maybe it’s not cool to cheer for the opposing team.
Let’s take a look:
Good grief. The dunk almost caused Wesley Johnson to fall over. Thankfully, DeAndre Jordan, who has had many dunks like this in his career, was there to catch him. If you watch closely, you can also see Tobias Harris simply mouth, “Damn.” That’s the perfect way to summarize this play.
Thornwell has primarily been known as a defender in his rookie year, so to see this explosion of athleticism is amazing. He put up a season-high 20 points and seven assists. On the season, he has averaged only 3.8 points, 0.9 assists, 1.9 rebounds and 0.7 steals in 15.6 minutes per game.
Despite the low numbers, Sindarius has been one of the highlights of the season after the Clippers bought his rights during the draft this summer. His defense has been brilliant and there are flashes, like last night, of his complete game.
We hope to see even more of this out of Sindarius Thornwell next season as he continues to be a part of the team’s future.
