On Thursday afternoon, the Los Angeles Clippers teamed up with CarMax and Blue Star Families to give military children the surprise of a lifetime.

Moving is never easy, but for military families, it’s just the norm. On average, military families will move around seven times as often as other families, further stressing out the husbands, wives, and children of those serving our country.

In life, it’s the little things that matter. An increased feeling of security or a small act of kindness could mean more for someone than most people would assume.

"“Military children serve alongside their parents, and making the connections to support and celebrate them is at the heart of the Blue Star Families mission,” said Noeleen Tillman, Chief Operating Officer of Blue Star Families. “Partnerships like these where we come together to build community between the civilian community and our military families are invaluable. CarMax, the Clippers staff and all the other volunteers are our Blue Star Neighbors.”"

On Thursday, before the Clippers and Jazz squared off in Utah, Patrick Beverley and Danilo Gallinari stayed back to help the team give back to the community.

While Beverley and Gallinari guided children and service members around their training facility as part of their VIP experience, volunteers from the LA Clippers organization and CarMax associates were busy building bikes for their young guests. Towards the end of the tour, the children were granted free play time at the facility.

That’s when the bikes were rolled out and presented to the families, a surprise to both the parents and the children.

Beverley and Gallinari stood by for photos with the families, with Chuck the Condor and members of the Clippers Spirit dance team joining as well. Afterwards, the children went outside and enjoyed their new gifts.
