9. New York Knicks: Lonnie Walker, SG, Miami
Here is something you won’t see often: Lonnie Walker from Miami as a top 10 pick. Other mock drafts have Walker much later, but I’m a believer. The University of Miami product led the Hurricanes to the NCAA tournament where they were the first victim to Loyola-Chicago’s Cinderella run. Walker is 6’4 with a 6’10 wingspan, giving him lots of defensive potential. His shooting is kinda spotty, but he’s 19 and has good form. The Knicks would be a good fit. Their current shooting guards are Tim Hardaway Jr and Courtney Lee. Lee is getting up there in age. Lonnie could grow underneath Hardaway. Also, the Knicks could benefit from young wing shooters.
