Defense

Lonnie Walker boats a 6’10” wingspan to go with his athleticism. This makes him a very capable on-ball defender against guards, as well as some small forwards. The combination also allows him to be a decent shot blocker as well as a rebounder. DraftExpress also published a video on his defensive capabilities below.

The fact that they deem him as “too jumpy” is a bit alarming. If he gets caught in the air against NBA caliber players, they will be able to draw quick and easy fouls, or move right around him and leave the rest of the defense scrambling. With the length he has, staying on the floor and getting a hand in the face of the shooter should be enough to provide a good contest.

Walker has the right tools, but will take some work on the defensive end. Now, the big question. Why should the Los Angeles Clippers look at him?
