Offense

For his freshman year with the Hurricanes, Walker is averaging 11.6 points on 42.1% shooting, including 35.8% from deep. He also pulls down 2.5 rebounds per game while dishing out 1.9 assists.

He scored a season-high 26 points against Boston in December while shooting 60% from the field. Walker has scored in double digits in 17 of his 30 games thus far.

Walker boasts a quick and high shot. This is due in part to the explosiveness of his jumpers. Walker also uses his athleticism off the dribble to get to the rim. He also has the basketball mind to realize and cut into open spaces to get a layup or an open shot. You can look at the DraftExpress video below for a more in depth breakdown of his offensive game, including what he may need some work on.

Walker’s offensive game is NBA ready to an extent. He does struggle with scoring off the dribble, but as we’ve seen with players such as Austin Rivers, it’s something that can be overcome. He does also have the tendency at times to isolate himself with the ball, which could be a problem for the Clippers if he is playing alongside the likes of Rivers (if he stays) or Lou Williams. This could be a product of being the dominant player on his team, but is something he will have to work out.

Now, let’s take a look at his defense.
