The Los Angeles Clippers are interested in signing Derrick Rose
After choosing not to convert Tyrone Wallace’s two-way contract, the Los Angeles Clippers may try to go after Derrick Rose.
Derrick Rose, one of the NBA’s biggest conundrums, is gathering some attention from the Los Angeles Clippers.
According to a report made by Tomer Azarly, the Clippers are considering signing Rose now that Tyrone Wallace‘s two-way contract has expired.
While Rose still has some value in the league, it’s important to know that he is far removed from his prime. Countless injuries whittled down Rose into more of a supporter than a star, and even in that role, he flopped.
Rose played in 16 games for the Cleveland Cavaliers this season, averaging 9.8 points and 1.6 assists. He also connected on just 25% of his three-point attempts.
On an LA roster devoid of three-point shooters and great defense, Rose’s weaknesses would be even more blatant. Wallace, on the other hand, could be vital.
Wallace averaged 10.1 points and 2.5 assists in 21 games with Los Angeles. He was given a two-way deal earlier this season because of his top-tier play with the G-League’s Agua Caliente Clippers. The 25-year-old guard was picked 60th overall in the 2016 NBA Draft.

During his brief stint in Los Angeles, Wallace established himself as a fan favorite. His aggressiveness on the defensive end was paralleled by his grace around the rim, and his stroke was a thing of beauty. And although he wasn’t the focal point of the team, the Clippers went 8-4 in games he started.
Wallace’s Clippers career may not be over yet, though. According to Azarly, Los Angeles can still sign Wallace to a new deal whenever they choose. If a deal is never reached, he can rejoin the team after the Agua Caliente Clippers season ends on March 24, however he will not be playoff eligible.
