Los Angeles Clippers Mid-Season Grades: Montrezl Harrell

Defense: B

Again, with Montrezl to really appreciate what he brings you have to dive into his Per 36 as well as the eye test. Per 36 Harrell is pulling down 6 defensive rebounds, 1.1 steals, and 1.7 blocks a game. Considering that he spends most of his time as the teams backup 5 those are impressive numbers. On most nights he’s facing up against a player that has at least a couple of inches on him, but his heart and effort make him a much bigger force than most opponents.

On the eye test, Trezz really brings it on the defensive end. He’s never afraid to put in the effort and has had some incredible defensive performances. In the Clippers last meeting with the Mavericks Harrell swatted a lay-up attempt from JJ Barea back to Dallas.
