The Newcomers

Miles Brown (ABC’s “black-ish”)

The youngest player for Team Clippers will be the 12-year-old “black-ish” star Miles Brown. Chemistry shouldn’t be an issue as Brown joins his on-air father Anthony Anderson on the court. Brown has aspirations to be an NBA player when he grows up, and the fact that he is already a celebrity All-Star has to look good on his scouting report.

Andre De Grasse (Olympic sprinter)

Spoiler alert: Andre De Grasse is going to score on a fast break. The Canadian Olympic silver medalist sprinter’s first love was basketball, but his dream changed after his high school shut down their basketball program. De Grasse will look to show off not only his speed, buts his hops too Friday night:

 Dascha Polanco (actress, activist)

“Orange is the New Black” star Dascha Polanco will be making her first appearance in the All-Star Celebrity Game. Look for her to play lockdown defense and take no prisoners as she scores the ball. The Dominican American actress’ hoop skills are relatively unknown, so it will be interesting to see what she brings to the court.

Bubba Watson (two-time Masters champion)

If you had any doubt whether or not Bubba Watson was committed to the All-Star Celebrity Game, worry not. The two-time Masters Champion said he is willing to drop out of the Genesis Open this weekend to play in the celebrity match. That is the kind of dedication you need to win a celebrity exhibition basketball game. Bubba has certainly learned a move or two from his wife Angie, who is a former WNBA player.

Quavo (rapper, singer, songwriter)

Last but certainly not least, the newest addition to Team Clippers, Quavo of the rap group Migos. Quavo announced his decision to take his talents to the All-Star Celebrity Game on ESPN’s First Take. The Migos star is a dark horse candidate for MVP, even with two former MVPs on Team Clippers. There are videos all over social media that show Quavo is actually a pretty talented athlete, like this:

In an official statement from Team Clippers Coach Katie Nolan on the acquisition of Quavo, she had only one thing to say: “skrt skrrrt.”

Skrt skrrt indeed, Katie.

The 2018 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game Presented By Ruffles takes place Friday, February 16 at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT at the Verizon Up Arena at the LACC in Los Angeles. The game will be shown live on ESPN.
