DeAndre Jordan of the Los Angeles Clippers posted a cryptic tweet after Jerry West’s comments during a season ticket holder event.
Well, so much for no drama around the trade deadline. Last night, during a season ticket holders event, Jerry West, alongside Lawrence Frank, spoke on the Blake Griffin deal, Lou Williams getting an extension and the lack of noise on the DeAndre Jordan front for the Los Angeles Clippers.
The DeAndre situation is now drawing interest after West revealed that the team tried to extend DJ just as they did Lou Williams.
Through an official transcript of last night’s events we obtained, we can see that Jerry West said the following:
"“The Clippers offered DeAndre [Jordan] an extension, so it is not like we were discarding him, period…He did not accept it, which is fine, and he now has an agent."
Now, DeAndre has responded on Twitter with the following cryptic tweet.
Uh oh. With DeAndre likely hitting free agency (he could also opt in to the last year of his deal), Clippers fans have to be on edge. Many of us figured that DJ would test the waters during this summer and that the team would move on now and get something in return. However, that did not come to fruition and now we may just be empty handed. (If you count a ton of cap room as empty handed).
It’s also odd to see Jerry West and a player at odds, but after abruptly moving the face of the franchise and one of DeAndre Jordan’s best friends to Detroit, it stands to reason that DJ may be a little upset.
