Los Angeles Clippers’ Avery Bradley to Spurs Heating Up
By Blake Harris
With the trade deadline just hours away, no team is expected to make more noise than the Los Angeles Clippers. Now, Avery Bradley is being discussed.
The Trade Deadline is almost here, and the rumors are beginning to surface like crazy. With DeAndre Jordan being the focal point of the Clippers, another player has slowly emerged as the latest to possibly be dealt. Avery Bradley. According to Marc Stein of the New York Times, the San Antonio Spurs are interested in trading for the newest Clipper.
A report came out last night that the Spurs were interested, this morning we get more context of the potential trade. Picking up yet another first rounder would be huge for the Clippers. This trade would give them a third first-round pick in a deep upcoming draft. The addition of Danny Green would also be a great pickup for the team as well. Green, 30 years old, only has one year left on his contract. Only making $10 million next season, it’s fairly reasonable.
The one hold on the deal is San Antonio’s hesitation to part ways with their first-rounder, which is understandable. Avery Bradley is going to be a free-agent this summer, and without assurance he’d re-sign, it could be a risky move. However, for a team like the Spurs who are a contender in the West, and addition like Bradley could help bolster their already stellar team. Just imagine a defensive duo of him and Kawhi Leonard, sheesh. That would be scary.
Next: Cavs remain interested in DeAndre Jordan
With all eyes on DeAndre Jordan, this is definitely an interesting deal to keep an eye on. If Bradley is dealt, his time in LA will be short lived. Avery Bradley has only appeared in two games since being traded from Detroit.
