Here’s where the trade really starts to make sense. Jerry West was brought in as an advisor to the Clippers’ front office. His legacy deserves a whole other 2,000 word article, but we can highlight recent successes.

West was hired in 2011 in a similar role to the Golden State Warriors. That team had a losing record and a questionable future. West was part of drafting Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. He was also the one that talked the team out of trading Klay Thompson for Kevin Love, and decision that looks more genius with every passing second. He was also there when the decision was made to break up Steph Curry and Monta Ellis.

That move. That move right there should make every scared Clipper fan stop and think. When that decision was made it SCARED THE HELL OUT OF WARRIORS FANS. They thought it was crazy; Ellis was GOOD. He brought the team success in the past, was a star, and a fan favorite. Sound familiar?
