Lob City is Born
On Dec. 14, 2011, the history of the Clippers changed once again. LA traded for all-star point guard Chris Paul, and a new era was officially underway.
We reacted the same way you did. Filled with excitement. Eager to see what this bright future, something unfamiliar with Clippers fans, would hold. And it did not disappoint. Once again, you gave us countless dunks and highlights that got us out of our seats. You dunked all over the Lakers, and made the statement that the city of Los Angeles now belonged to the Clippers. Oh, and who can forget what you did to Kendrick Perkins.
Who can forget making the playoffs? Something Clippers fans were very unfamiliar with. The unforgettable comeback in game one, and winning a heart-pounding game seven in Memphis. Sure, you guys were swept in the second round. But reaching the second round was an accomplishment in itself. In just two seasons, you took us from the bottom of the barrel, all the way to being one of the final eight teams left. This would be the beginning of a string of six-consecutive years making the playoffs, the longest streak in franchise history.
