C.J. Williams out with a right ankle sprain
The LA Clippers will be without another player: C.J. Williams. He suffered a right ankle sprain against the Warriors.
The injury bug struck again. The LA Clippers will be without C.J. Williams tonight versus the Sacramento Kings after he suffered a right ankle sprain during the team’s win over the Golden State Warriors.
This doesn’t bode well for the Clippers as they are already missing Patrick Beverley, Milos Teodosic and Austin Rivers due to various injuries. Milos may be able to play soon, but Beverley is out for the season and Rivers has yet to be re-evaluated.
Yikes. Crutches for an ankle sprain means he could be out for a little while. C.J. Williams has been awesome for the LA Clippers this year and the 27 year old rookie has definitely earned a full-time shot in the NBA, whether with the Clips or another NBA team.
Earlier this week, he even nailed a game winning three pointer against the Atlanta Hawks. It was his “I belong” moment and left fans begging for the Clips to retain him.
Next Up
With C.J. out of commission for the time being, Tyrone Wallace will earn more minutes. The young guard has been successful in his three NBA games so far, including dropping 20 points while coming off of the bench in last night’s game. Wallace will have to continue to score, especially if Blake Griffin is also still unable to go.
In the meantime, we hope C.J. is able to recover quickly. Keep checking back here for any updates!
