Yesterday during a game against the Warriors, Blake Griffin went down with a scary head injury.

The injury turned out to be a concussion, that occurred as Blake was driving to the basket against Javale McGee; McGee accidentally elbowed Blake in face during the drive. What made the moment so scary was the fact that Blake was down on the floor for so long. His hand began twitching, and everyone in the arena collectively sat in silence. Fortunately, he was helped to the back, but wouldn’t return for the rest of the game.

The injury couldn’t have come at a worst time for the short-handed Clippers. Los Angeles is already missing the services of: Milos Teodosic, Patrick Beverley, Danilo Gallinari, and Austin Rivers. The team was just starting to gain its stride, as they had previously won 9 out of the last 14 games. Luckily the team is going against Atlanta next game, and has a legitimate chance to bounce back. The playoffs aren’t out of the picture for the Clippers just yet, but they could certainly use a break.

Doc Rivers spoke post-game about Blake Griffin’s scary concussion against the Warriors. Doc mentioned he heard from Milos Teodosic of all people that the injury was a concussion.

Deandre Jordan also addressed the injury in the locker post-game.

"“Blake’s a pretty tough guy, he should be okay, but we definitely want him to be precautious and do whatever he needs to do to be ready to play, and we want him to be healthy as well. I didn’t really see too much of it, I saw the replay.”"

As of the time of writing, there is no further update on Blake Griffin’s status. We can go ahead and make the assumption that he will not play on Monday against Atlanta. Clipperholics will keep you updated as the Clippers announce injuries this week. Hopefully he can get back on the court sooner rather than later.
