To commemorate the LA Clippers 40th season since moving to California, the franchise unveiled their new City Edition jerseys which pay homage to the Clippers’ roots in San Diego.
The NBA released the last batch of City Edition jerseys Wednesday, including the LA Clippers’ newest uniform. The City Edition jersey will be the Clippers fourth and final jersey the team will wear this season. LA has already donned the white “Association,” blue “Icon” and black “Statement” Nike jerseys.
The blue, orange and white jerseys are a modern spin on the classic uniforms worn by the Clippers in San Diego, however they feature the new Clippers logo. The outfits are “Influenced by SoCal’s beach culture with design elements inspired by boardshorts, ” according the LA Clippers. The Clippers played in San Diego from 1978-1984 after the Buffalo Braves franchise relocated to Southern California.

The new shorts feature nautical flags to spell LAC, which is another callback to the Clippers days in San Diego. The Clippers name originates from the great sailing ships that passed through San Diego Bay. Also, the new shorts feature the classic San Diego Clippers logo.
The Clippers will wear the City Edition jerseys five times this season. You can see the new jerseys yourself March 4 against Brooklyn, March 6 against New Orleans, March 10 against Orlando, March 18 against Portland and March 27 against Milwaukee. You can already get one for yourself as a late Christmas present.
