2007 NBA Draft
Selections: Al Thornton (14th), Jared Jordan (45th)
Notable players still available: Marco Belinelli (18th), Wilson Chandler (23rd), Marc Gasol (48th), Ramon Sessions (56th)
Al Thornton didn’t have a horrible career with the LA Clippers, but given the minutes he received, he should’ve done a lot more. He spent three years with the team before he was traded to the Washington Wizards, and his highest scoring average was 16.8 points per game in the 2008-2009 season.
Jared Jordan led the NCAA in assists for two consecutive years, and he came into the draft with a lot of hype surrounding him.
He ended up playing 8 minutes of preseason basketball for the New York Knicks. That was his only NBA experience.
Not a strong case for the Clippers so far, especially considering Marc Gasol was still available when the team drafted Jordan at 45th overall. Hindsight is 20/20, but this one seems so obvious that it hurts.
