@jbk14mv10 asks: How likely is it DJ gets traded this season? Scale of 1-10, with 1=not likely at all and 10=almost certainly.

Ryan

I hate to be that guy, especially on the first question, but I have to go with a 5, as in I have no clue. Personally, I would probably test the waters on him and at least see if there was worth anything taking, but it’s hard to move on from a guy who has meant so much to the team. I’ve already stated that re-signing him long term scares me, so trading him would be okay in my book. After all, it’s a business, right? I guess we’ll just see what happens later this week when recently signed players can be finally be traded.

Garrett

I’m going to have to go with Ryan here and say 5 as well. Jordan signed agent Jeff Schwartz recently, but since he never made his intentions clear to the public, your guess is as good as mine. At this point, both are equally likely. A trade wouldn’t shock me if the team is looking to start over, but DJ has previously said that he wants to remain a Clipper for life. Oh, and the last time he had an agent, he almost signed with Dallas. So there’s that to consider.

@BenchOnAQuest asks: How long do you honestly think DeAndre will remain a Clipper?

Ryan

After the way I answered last question, I guess I have to be iffy again. IF, and that’s a big if, they don’t trade him, I say he stays. DJ likes Los Angeles and with the team being pretty tight knit, I see them pulling out all the stops to bring DeAndre back. So he’s a Clipper for a long time if they don’t trade him. How is that for a cop out?

Garrett

I’m going to live in my own fantasy world and pretend everything is perfect and pretend that DeAndre still wants to be a Clipper for life. Like Ryan said, he clearly has great relationships with most of the guys on the team. But at the same time – assuming winning is more important to him than finding friends – It’s all but understood that he’ll need to go elsewhere to end up with a title.
