Deron Williams

Ok ok I know, he was abysmal last year, but hear me out.  Williams was in the same draft class as Chris Paul, and believe or not, at the time was considered the better prospect.  We all know how that played out, but it speaks to his ability to read the game.  In an era where the league is headed towards position-less basketball, his play making and game IQ would be great for the young guys in LA to learn from.  Jawun Evans, potentially, has the most to gain in learning from Williams as he’s a young, true one-guard with raw athleticism.

The Clippers’ second unit has had some shooting struggles and Williams running point with the bench could help with some of those woes.  In his career he has shot 46% from the field and 82% from the line.  Last year he had his second best year from the arc shooting 41%.

The Clippers could gain a lot from Deron Williams’ passing and effective shooting, but mostly from his experience and ability to help develop an already fun young guard in Evans.
