The LA Clippers have sent Patrick Beverley back to Los Angeles after he has had more knee issues.
More good news for LA Clippers’ fans broke this morning. According to Brad Turner of the LA Times, the Clippers have sent Patrick Beverley back to Los Angeles after the guard reportedly had more issues with his knee. According to Turner, there is no timetable for his return.
This does not bode well for the Clippers, who have lost 9 straight games as they head into Atlanta tonight. Beverley made a return after missing 5 games on Monday night in New York, but apparently things just didn’t feel right.
With the team still missing 3 of their 5 opening night starters, it will be hard for them to get pointed in the right direction. Milos Teodosic has been slowly participating in pre-game activities and Danilo Gallinari has at least another week left before he will be cleared to return.
If Beverley is out for a while, expect heavy minutes to go to Austin Rivers and Sindarius Thornwell, who have been playing a lot this season. Luckily for the Clippers, they do have a good amount of guard depth, including Lou Williams and rookie Jawun Evans.
The team will need Beverley to get healthy as soon as possible, however. This losing streak has hurt their playoff chances and having their starting point guard out for an extended amount of time will hurt their chances of making up the lost ground.
We will keep you updated with any news regarding Patrick Beverley’s status.
UPDATE: According to Woj, Beverley had surgery and there is no timetable. Great.
