Clippers vs Hornets – Swarm Kemba

It’s a popular belief that Kemba Walker is a very good player. He’s a lock for the annual list of All-Star snubs, has ridiculous handles, and may very well be the most underappreciated star in the NBA. Aside from Walker though, Charlotte doesn’t have much to offer – especially on the offensive end.

The Hornets just got Nic Batum back, and it’s safe to assume that he’ll look a little rusty. Rookie shooting guard Malik Monk is good for about 10 points a night, but his shooting percentage leaves much to be desired. Dwight Howard and co. should be defended well down low by DeAndre Jordan, even with his recent struggles. And since Charlotte isn’t particularly good on the defensive end, all focus should be on Kemba.

If Beverley is back in time for this matchup, Walker will struggle without a doubt. However, if the Clippers are forced to rely on Austin Rivers and Jawun Evans at point, there could be a different outcome. Neither Rivers nor Evans compares to Beverley defensively, and Walker is notorious for making defenders look silly. Double-teaming him might be necessary on some of the more important possessions, or late in the shot clock.

If the Clippers can knock down their shots, limit turnovers, and keep Kemba from going off, they’ll cruise to an easy victory over the Hornets.
