The Los Angeles Lakers
That extraordinary thing may very well be rookie point guard Lonzo Ball. He’s a sensation for a reason, as he’s got real talent, but he’s got fans of all teams wondering – Will it be enough to bring the Lakers back to their glory days? And even still, when will they be able to compete with the Warriors?
Lakers fans are hopeful that the answer is yes, while us Clippers fans are praying for a little more time in the limelight.
The Lakers have potentially put together their best roster since 2012, which was the last time they made it to the playoffs. Headlined by Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, there’s clearly plenty of star-caliber ability to go around. Ball has drawn comparisons to Jason Kidd, and Kuzma lit up the preseason. As it stands though, they simply don’t have enough to compete with great teams like the Clippers.
The rivalry will be renewed tonight, as both teams will meet at the beginning of their 2017-2018 campaigns. We don’t know how it’ll turn out just yet, but we can guarantee that we’ll see some fireworks as tensions rise between the two teams and fanbases. The next few pages in this rivalry are starting to be written.
