Wesley Johnson is poised for a bounce-back season

We’ve brought Wesley Johnson up in almost every single recap this preseason, but that’s because the small forward looks like a brand new player out on the floor for the Clippers. Johnson had 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals in LA’s win and once again looked great. He shot six for eight and went four for four from three in the game, which pushes him to eight for nine shooting from deep in the Clippers’ four preseason games.

“Confidence, it’s the main thing,” Johnson said after his performance, “I’ve always had all the skill sets but just playing with confidence, that’s all it is.”

If Johnson can continue this play into the regular season, he could be in for an expanded role off of the bench this season and could even find himself as a Most Improved Player Award candidate.
