Run and Gun
With Chris Paul, LA had seen a slow down of pace and transition offense as the years went on. When Paul was traded to the Clippers they played fast and ran teams out of the gym. The problem was that they did not continue to do that and even slowed down at times to a snail’s pace when Doc Rivers would tell them to run.
Milos Teodosic is not Chris Paul and to be honest, it’s almost better not to be like him. Paul could make some incredible plays no doubt, but Milos makes some – like the one below – that make you question what even happened.
The team needs to run and then run some more. By doing so, they’ll have enough offense to get by most of the NBA. However, with the elite teams, they are going to have to really work on their half court offense. The Clippers are getting back quicker compared to previous years its seemed. They have always played better when they have used their athletic players.
Milos is interesting because most players have not played against him, and only know him from the highlights they have seen. Teodosic helps the team push the ball and gives them a different look when he and Blake Griffin are in transition.
While Teodosic is not the same player as a CP3, he can keep defenses honest because of the magic he does with the ball. For the team to be successful against the Trailblazers, they will need to push the tempo and run a quick Blazer team out of the gym.
