The LA Clippers are still “Lob City” and fans should be even more intrigued by the additions of Patrick Beverley and Milos Teodosic.

Here at Clipperholics, we like to think we keep you informed of whats going on with the team so that there are no surprises. You would not be surprised by Patrick Beverley‘s grit and his defense. You wouldn’t be surprised by the passes Milos Teodosic makes either. I don’t think you would be surprised by the possibility of Austin Rivers starting. Want to know what you might be surprised about?

**whispers** Lob City is alive and well.

Contrary to popular belief, Lob City is not dead. It is alive and well. The team that has tried to distance themselves from the moniker in the past is looking more Lob City than ever.

DeAndre Jordan was asked by a reporter if he felt like Lob City was still there:

"I don’t think we ever lost that, I mean we got guys who can make passes like that. you got myself, Blake, Willie, Montrezl guys like that rolling and able to play above the rim. It’s good that we added guys like Pat and Milos and you know Austin is capable of that."

I would say Lob City is here to stay.

The team has players who can lob and they have capable finishers at the rim. The team is focusing more on ball movement and pushing the tempo, which is a change from the team that ranked 16th in pace last season. This team’s offense will run very differently from the last six years of a Chris Paul led team.

You cannot replace a Chris Paul, but the team didn’t win with him, so a change needed to take place for the pieces to mesh better with each other.

New Additions of Pat and Milos

Patrick Beverley and Milos Teodosic together create very exciting basketball. They have a past of playing together years ago on the same European team, Olympiacos, in 2009-2010. It was only for a season, but that was enough time to get a familiarity with each other. With their previous time together, this should only help the adjustment period the Clippers have post Chris Paul.

During a post game, Blake Griffin addressed what its like playing with Milos:

"Man it’s fun..it’s uh..he does stuff sometimes you just kinda just… just impressed or surprised I don’t know what the word is…"

Griffin mentioned a specific pass, highlighted below:

The team is very different from previous years and what fans need to know is that it’s a good thing. The Clippers had grown long in the tooth. That core was not going to get over the hump and at the price tag they were becoming more of a first round exit than a second round team. Granted, injuries played a big part in those last two post seasons, but the losses are still valid.

Complimenting each other

Both players compliment each other well and can cover for the other. J.J Redick was a better player because of Chris Paul and the other way around. I feel the same thing can be true for Milos and Patrick. Exciting things will happen when they are together. Don’t worry so much about Milos and his defense because he has Patrick to take the tough assignment. I wouldn’t worry so much about Patrick’s offense, because he will get easy spot up looks from willing passers.

Milos is a willing passer, and if anyone in NBA has not seen video from overseas, they don’t know what they are getting into. Milos will leave you saying, “wait…what just happened…” He will have teams rethinking the laws of physics when the game is done.

The LA Clippers are a team that will hopefully fly under the radar. But, when has Lob City ever done that? Get your popcorn ready.
