3) Sindarius Thornwell sees an increase in playing time
Doc Rivers waited until the very end of the Clippers’ first game to sub in Thornwell and the rookie took advantage of his four minutes of playing time. Thornwell looked confident and aggressive on the court, stepping out to knock down a three-pointer and then converting on a tough and-one layup for his five points of the night.

With Austin Rivers out and the game being merely preseason, Doc Rivers has no excuse to give Thornwell some extended playing time after the wing was so productive in his limited minutes. Rivers waited until the fourth quarter of the Clip’s loss to play any of the younger guys, which is a bit concerning and suggests that the LA head coach is going to continue his questionable choice to not give younger players significant minutes during the season.
