Return of the Lobs
Remember back in 2013 when Blake Griffin said that “Lob City doesn’t exist anymore,”? Well, it might be the time that the LA Clippers bring Lob City back. Chris Paul, who was our point-gawd but honestly slowed down our offense a ton, is no longer with the Clippers and the team has a roster full of new faces. The new-look Clippers are built to push the ball and the majority of the starting lineup is capable of bringing the ball up the court on a fast break and this new fast-paced style should lead to plenty of lobs.
In addition, the Clippers added two athletic big men to their bench this season in Montrezl Harrell and Willie Reed. Pairing these two centers on the bench alongside the Serbian wizard Milos Teodosic should result in plenty of highlight quality alley-oops.
But honestly, this Clippers squad looks like they’ve had much more fun during training camp and the offense than LA teams of previous years. The team chemistry seems high and the players look like they’ve genuinely enjoyed spending time and playing alongside each other up to this point which may lead to more lobs.
