Patrick Beverley is out in the community doing the good work with City Year, helping to make sure students at 107th Street Elementary School in LA have enough school supplies.

Patrick Beverley is one of the newest LA Clippers but that hasn’t stopped him from being out in the community helping those in need. The team, through a partnership with City Year, is giving students at 107th Street Elementary some much-needed school supplies. Posted to the LA Clippers Instagram story, Beverley can be see passing out backpacks to the kids, and he even gets on the court to show the kids why he is First Team All-Defense.

City Year is non-profit company that works with schools to help bridge the gap for students that are in high poverty area. They aim to keep children in school especially from these poverty-stricken areas to graduate instead of them dropping out of school at any point.

Patrick Giving Back

Patrick Beverley has worked with local charities in Houston and while it is not ever heavily reported when athletes give back, it is important to make note of these things when it’s not necessary to give their time or money. Beverley is giving back to a city that is happy to have him and is giving his time to help those that are without.

He is known for his strong work ethic and by sharing that with the kids, it’s a great way to connect with the city. Athletes are held to a certain standard in how they operate and it’s great to see Beverley out immersing himself into the city he was traded to.

His importance in the community is almost as important as him taking over the reigns for a new-look LA Clipper team that opens up their season against their rivals the Los Angeles Lakers (Oct 19th). The LA Clippers are lucky to have someone who has embraced the city who has welcomed him with open arms.
