Shabbat Shalom on Andre Miller

Everyone knows about Jamal Crawford’s handles. JCrossover is in the conversation for best handles in the league annually, with an arsenal of moves that leave defenders wondering what just happened to them. Since Crawford had plenty of highlight dribble moves during his time with the Clippers, it’s difficult to designate one particular move as his best. But there’s no doubt that this dazzling, behind-the-back move that Crawford used to get around Andre Miller would be one of his best. On Christmas Day in 2012, Crawford gifted Miller with a smooth double behind-the-back move into an off-the-glass floater that sent the bench and the crowd into a frenzy. Longtime Clippers fan Billy Crystal just happened to be in the booth at the time and exclaimed, “Where I come from, that’s called a Shabbat Shalom!” While this was just one of Crawford’s countless dribbling highlights, it’s one that has stuck with me personally and is definitely one of his best.
