The Between the Legs Lob to Blake

Crawford was partly responsible for what may have been the most iconic play of the “Lob City Era” for the Clippers (it’s definitely up there with DJ’s murder of Brandon Knight and CP3’s game seven winner over the Spurs). In the fourth quarter of a win against the Milwaukee Bucks back in 2013, Crawford received an outlet pass on a fast break with Blake Griffin and threw a perfectly placed between-the-legs alley-oop that put Griffin in the position to windmill the dunk home and set the Staples Center on fire. Only Crawford, longly regarded as one of the flashiest players in the league, would have the audacity to even attempted a between the legs alley-oop in an actual game (it helped that LA already had a 17-point lead but still). What’s even more impressive is that Crawford even added a little extra sauce on the oop, tossing the ball up to himself before going between the legs to Griffin. Years later, this play still remains as one of the best plays of recent Clippers history and will definitely make you long for the “Lob City” days.
